In recognition of Arbor Day, the City of Green is holding our annual Tree Planting Ceremony on Friday, April 29 at 1 p.m. in front of the Central Administration Building, 1755 Town Park Blvd. In addition, a community contest to find the largest tree in the City will take place April 1 through April 17.
The Tree Planting Ceremony will take place in front of the Central Administration building, 1755 Town Park Blvd. All are welcome to attend. An Ann Magnolia tree will be planted in the circle by the main entrance. Mayor Gerard Neugebauer will present the Proclamation and the Largest Tree winner will be awarded. Light refreshments provided in the lobby of the Central Administration Building after the ceremony.
The tree contest is open to all residents who would like to participate and believe they have the largest diameter tree on their property. The City of Green arborist will take official measurements and photos of submitted trees to determine which is the largest. The winner will receive an engraved brick noting the largest tree.
