Mayor Adamson's Daily Update for September 23, 2022

AUTUMN WASN’T KIDDING

I’m not sure if there was any frost on the pumpkins, but I’m pretty sure I could see my breath when I went out this morning. From 88 degrees to 47 degrees in 24 hours is an eye-opener to say the least. We knew the autumnal equinox was upon us, but we didn’t expect it to come in with such a bang! Still, there is something special about being able to say, “fall is in the air.” That clean air scent (extra special where we live) brings back a flood of memories – backyard football, searching for acorns, catching a glimpse of the first changing-of-the-colors of the leaves in the trees, or just taking that deep, full breath of fresh fall air!

There is indeed a reason we live where we do, and we always recall that the change of seasons is one of the very big reasons. The forecast indicates more of the same for the next several days, so throw on that hoodie, and get out there and enjoy it. In your backyard, down on the towpath, over at the trails or the waterfront at the State Park, or maybe one more boat or kayak ride – whatever you prefer – but get out there, New Franklin, and breathe in the fabulous fall air!
