City of Green recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Green’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee is partnering with Green Local School and the Green Area Chamber to offer a free dementia awareness training seminar on Saturday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Green High School Auditorium, 1474 Boettler Rd.

Dementia Friends is Ohio’s biggest initiative to change perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way individuals think, talk and act about the disease. The Dementia Friends session helps participants learn about dementia and the small ways they can help. From telling friends about the program to visiting someone you know living with dementia, every action counts.

The one-hour session will take place Saturday, March 19 starting at 9 a.m. with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. This event is free. No registration required.

“We encourage individuals from organizations, groups and businesses to join us for this important training to understand how we as a community can be more inclusive to those living with memory loss,” said Communications Manager Valerie Wolford, City of Green."

Join virtually by watching the livestream at cityofgreen.org/YouTube.
